Title: Help! Refitting A-post windscreen trim
Post by: thermidorthelobster on May 03, 2008, 17:38:00
I removed the plastic trim from the A-post of my TD5 Disco to run an electrical cable to the roof rack (for spotlights).

It's held on by 3 metal clips next to the windscreen glass.  The top 2 refit fairly easily, but I'm blowed if I can get it back on and re-engage the bottom of the 3.

Any tips?  The workshop manual only goes as far as "refit the trim with the clips".

Thanks!

Still looking for help on this one, if anybody can, because it makes a heck of a noise when I'm driving now.

The bottom clip goes on a different way than the top 2 - or at least, it looks like it does.  What way, I'm not sure.  Help very welcome!

I had a kind offer of help from Devon 4x4 but as I work near Challenger I dropped in on the way home.  Paul fixed it in 5 minutes!  Marvellous...

It would have been quite hard to describe the problem on the phone, given it turns out I'd bent a bit of it :D
