Title: Broken transfer box linkage
Post by: Lumbering Jack on May 03, 2008, 19:15:48
Hi Guys,

Was gathering up some firewood today and went to put it back into hi and the lever went very slack.  Managed to find the problem; the bottom bit of the linkage had snapped off.  Managed to get back into high by manually moving the bit that the linkage attaches to.

Does anyone know how I can get the part number for the bit I need?  Basically its the bit that joins the bottom of the rod part of the linkage to the bit that sticks out of the top of the transfer box (Sorry I can't explain it any better )

Also is it likely that Britpart will make one or is it a main dealer jobber?  [-o<

it wont be a main dealer jobby, most bits areent.
have a word with your local landy place... failing that, it might be cheaper to go with the old one to a metalsmith/blacksmith and he might be able to knock you one up for a few bob.

If it's the bit I'm thinking of, mine snapped a while back. I didn't bother sourcing a new one....I just welded up the broken bit.  :)

My transfer box yoke went as well, got a mate to weld up the original one as a fix then popped into the local landy place to geet a new one for all of a couple of quid.. they knew what it was from my attempts at a description
