Title: Swivel pre-load
Post by: bigwood on May 07, 2008, 19:31:29
In the process of getting tools together for a long spell of owning a Disco I wondered if any one has bought a spring balance for setting the swivel pre- load recently. The ones we had in the Army were  a brass thing you used to see being used by fishing people. As this was a long time ago is there a more up to date piece of kit.  :tappity:

I tied using a small digital scales very similar to these (what I had to hand at the time)

But to be honest a good old fangled spring balance is a handier piece of kit to use. An analog display is much better for this kind of thing.

I just have fishing scales that you hold in one hand and hang fish on.........or use to set swivel preload.

Works fine for me. :)

Nice to hear that there is something that technology can't replace
