Title: 200tdi Timing cover wading plug?
Post by: lightweight-love on May 16, 2008, 11:53:29
getting disco engine ready to go in me series its being totally spoiled with new belts, filters, gaskets and seals a plenty, my question tho:  is the timing cover hole at the bottom of the cover case the same idea as with a series bellhousing? ie you leave it open so oil can leak out if need be, but put a plug in it when wading?
Or can you put a breather and pipe on it?
Thanks for advice guys - and for previous advice on timing belt! did belt yesterday-glad can forget it for a few years now!

Hole in the timing belt cover can be plumbed with a breather. The one in the bell housing is wading plug hole just like the Series.

il stick a breather in then, maybe in the series bellhousing too, is a bother taking plug in and out and im sure no oil leaks out(will no for sure when change engine soon)
Cheers guys.
