Post by: richbentley on May 17, 2008, 16:26:08
hi guys,
im new to this site i got it recomended by some family i met whilst camping, basically i bought a 1973 88'' a few years ago, it was working fine for ages but the it began to overheat and the engine would cut out even in 1st gear until i finally wouldn't start at all, its been stood now for 2 years and my mum wants it off her drive one way or the other :embarrassed:
any ideas would help, cheers

Whereabouts are you?  There might be someone in your area looking to buy a project  ;)

Overheating engine that begins to refuse to turn over and eventually stops completely.  That doesn't sound healthy.  :-o

It'd be worth trying to get a 2nd hand engine.  There's plenty about and they're not too expensive

Value as a project, at best £500.  Value with MOT and tax and running would be about £1000-1500 if it is in decent condition (i.e. doesn't look like a complete wreck with tatty seats and patchwork style paint etc).
