In my 200Tdi Disco I found I could fit a fire extinguisher between the side of the driver's seat and the door. This is an ideal place, because as the driver bails out he can grab the extinguisher on the way.
However, I can't do this on the TD5, because the door pockets get in the way. Does anybody have an inspired suggestion as to where to fit it? I want to take into consideration that in the event of an accident, I don't want the extinguisher flying around and bashing somebody up.
The boot is the only place which seems to lend itself, but it's one of the harder places to get to if the car catches fire...

I fitted one in the rear load space on the back door window ledge where it dips down, lying on its side that way if there is a fire when you open the door fully the fire extinguisher swings toward you away from the vehical :D I also have one behind the drivers seat as mine is a three door all I have to do is roll out of the car and flick the seat release catch and there it is. :D

How about front passenger footwell.
Quick to get to.

Not knowing the layout, what about on the floor in front of the drivers seat across the base as is left to right under your legs
Or maybe the door pillar above the seat belt tensioner

I seen and got a very slim line one, so how about using the door pocket itself :?: Or above the drivers door on the head lining :?:
I've got two, one fitted to the rear dog guard and the other one LHS on the transmission tunnel.

I've got a 2kg in the passenger footwell attached to the seat box front.

David,
I fitted mine in the passenger footwell, in front of the bonnet release catch.
