Title: 300 tdi sedimentor
Post by: bambamjj on May 23, 2008, 11:07:03
Is it enough to just drain this if not in position to strip and clean properly at moment?

Any thoughts appreciated

Personally I bypass these things if needed to be worked on

As most of them are brittle and probably not been touched for years

Hi.

To drain it out is better than nothing, but in my opinion a good strip down and clean will help the rest of your fuel system. The parts are cheap and this filter helps prevent water and debris reaching the main filter and possibly FIP.

Cheers, Dan

the plastic drain on every one ive had has seized or broke on me, so i just remove the bowl. think its 11 or 12 mm bolt through the centre of it from the top . easy to do..alan
