It would not work on road, let alone off road!

You need at least 2" with a Camel cut. I've got 4" and no cut. It does not go off road an if I am forced to park on a kerb the tyres catch!!!!!

if the handbooks says no 235/85/16 they wont fit without mods of some sort. they wont

land rover designed them on that height just use more aggressive pattern

I ran m/t's in this size (remoulds too) without a lift. Was on standard landrover alloys (+33 offset) and all i had to do was put longer steering bolts in and do a camel cut. Dont think they would have fitted on mods though as the offset on the is only +8mm.

No lift and 235/85/16's on full articulation with no rubbing  :afro:

AAARRRRRGGHHHHH!

it conflicts, one says one thing one says the other...

do not want to go for a lift yet SWMBO wont allow, on my last disco i had 2" lift wit 235/85/16 MT (colway) and she said it looked stupid, but i loved it and looked the dogs,.

At the moment it has 205/Something/16's and are on the limit

Gonna do lift when i have got thru one set of tyres but want to go bigger than standard, would 235/75/16 look better?

How does it conflict? Everybody agrees it can't be done unless you do a Camel cut or a lift or both.

Just get em on!

If they dont work for whatever reason they you have to buy a lift kit (like you want!) and her indoors cant do owt about it!

It can be done with either a lift, camel cut or both. I DIDNT have a lift but DID do a camel cut.

go for 245/76 r16.. they look good, are almost as tall as a 235/85 but only require a mild camel cut with standard suspension..
have just fitted a set to my 300Tdi, and only had to do a mild camel trim...

Hi.

You could ask your tyre supplier to show you a 31x10x15. I've just fitted a set to my 300 and they look grrrreat. You have to do a camel cut which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The steering stops didn't need adjusting, and the spare fits on the standard LR alloy rear door mounting.

Cheers, Dan

chop a bit off the back arch, theres a guide floating about somewhere.... i remember googling this in the past... got some "interesting" results!

31x 10.5 R15 (i have 2 very good tyres for sale at the mo...) are smaller than 235`s. the metric equivalent is about 255/75 15 as opposed to 235/85/R16

i`d go for a set of remould 235/75 R16`s, that way they wont last too long, and shouldnt need any messing. best to borrow a set and check by parking on a lesser vehicles bonnet (thus giving best articulation) then you can see where it catches. i use a railway sleeper and old kitchen appliances (usually some floating around the estate) to get some flex.

mark with chalk, then think about it, if it seems to be a good place to cut, get the angry grinder out!

I am making the most of the fact somebody else has started this old chestnut and can't get the blame!

I have a 2" body lift. I have a full wheel arch chop. I am running standard length heavy duty springs with 40mm spring spacer platforms all round.

I want to know if I get MAXXIS MUDZILLA 35x13.50x15 (or possibly the MAXXIS CREEPY CRAWLER 35x12.50x15)  on 15x10 white modulars will they work for me? I do some quite rigorous green laning but no really extreme off roading (don't pay and play much).

I accept that I may need to consider extended bump stops to prevent touching inside the top of the arches.

My only concern is as to whether or not I will be able to get into top gear on the motorway as I already struggle because of all the extra weight I am carrying.
