hi guys, could do with a little advice. have fitted 2" lift and 33x12.5x15, but now have a grumbling noise coming from the front. Doesn't seem to be anything catching. just wondered if castor correction arms or adjustable panhard rod would help. any advice would be very helpful, thanks :?

doubt either will help..
Panhard will only correct the axle movement left and right
I would guess at prop shaft. After a 2inch lift the angle of the UJ's will be more - if there is a dodgy one it will soon show.

thanks for the reply mark, my 110 double cab is only just over 2 weeks old so i would hope that all the uj s are good as new, the noise isn't there all the time but its annoying. i also notice the noise on bumpy windy roads.

2 weeks old, a 2inch lift and 33's
Won the lottery :)
What else can it be then.....
The way i normally find where the noise is coming from is to start taking bits off!
I still think its propshaft related... On a bumpy road, when the suspension gives the angle will change on the prop.
If you examine the prop near the UJ, is there any sign of the bits catching? especially on the bits where the UJ is.

I would think propshaft is the prime candidate. My 90 was nasty to drive before I changed the front prop.
You need a cardon jointed prop shaft here (http://www.devon4x4.com/component/option,com_shop/Itemid,67/sitelang,en/mode,productview/product,102/cat,57/showcaticons,no) plus you will also need a flange kit to fit it on a 90 or 110 which are about £30 from a main stealer.
If you want to do it on the cheap get a Disco II TD5 front prop from a scrap yard and you will still need the flange kit.

i will try taking the front prop off and driving it in diff lock, then see where we get to. thanks for the help lads will let you know if i find the answer.

You might even see physical evidence that the UJ is knocking. I had a series prop UJ do that, the yoke hits the recesses in the flange due to the increased angle from extended shackles. A different (yet standard!) UJ assemble had less 'meat' and allowed for the increase in working angle.
You can also get custom wide angle propshafts instead of going down the cardon jointed prop shaft route.

There is a place at bulwell called wilsons driveshafts (i think). A friend had some wide yoke props made for a series for £135 each :D

Finally found the problem, took the prop off today and found the 30mm nut that holds th drive flange in the transfer box was only finger tight!!! not bad to say its only six weeks old! oh and one of the front swivels and the steering box is leaking YIPPEE!
