I still think to this day, how such an operation was actually planned, put together, and executed it amazes me, god bless the fallen.

I did the beaches tour a couple of years ago. I'm astounded by what was achieved.

Hi,

took the kids there last week, they were amazed (as was i) at what they achieved - now that was heroism, not football players & the rubbish they describe as heros today

those who were involved will be in our prayers tonite

I was sitting at my office desk today and thought about the fact that it was 64 years ago today.... I think this date should never be forgotten.

Been to the beaches a few times,  Aromanches is fantastic, to think that so many men got over the beaches, but so many also didnt.
What got me in normandy was the bullet marks everywhere, sitting in a restaurant you can see the house next door with bullet scars all round the windows, you can almost imagine a german standing shooting.

Tis true.
We owe them, and all the other men/women of WW2 everything

and defenders involved....
Must have been a very pre-production model???

(sorry to be flippant at such a serious time, but couldn't resist)
