well there goes rear diff number one lol and was just driving tb fair through some slop and then heard a crunch, took it out off diff lock and ..................nothing, wouldnt move lol so took half shafts n prop off to save more damage so am now needing a 24spline diff cheap lol oh well its all good fun
-
are you sure its a 24 spline?? what disco have you got 200 or 300 series??
-
If it's the one it the picture on your avatar you'll need 10 spline ;) ( a few of the last 200 tdi's did have 24 but they are few and far between)
-
pretty much all the last of the Lreg had 24 spline, i know of dozens local to me that are 24 spline
but whats to say it hasnt had a replacement axle ?
he mentioned removing the shafts, so surely he counted
-
yeah its def 100% a 24 spline, but my mate just said that aslong as i get the right ratio and halfshafts i can just put in a 10 spline without any harm? this true?

i have two diffs and the shaft,s from my 1988 rangie think they will fit your disco depends where you are in uk

i blew the rear diff on my 300 not so long ago. found out that a service exchange diff was £250 so it now runs with 10 spline diff, half shafts and a trusty 200 prop. no more doughnut troubles. only snag in fitting was that 10 spline half shafts are 3/8's for the bolts and 24 spline are 10mm. a stainless steel drill bit is not tough enough to drill out the holes so i used a die grinder and a diamond cut hole file. apart from this all fits fine, no odd noises and its been given some hammer in the last few weeks.
hope this helps.

cheers for the replies people, managed to get a diff today for it and few other odds and sods i.e polly bushes etc etc all for the sum of 75 quid, some have said was bit pricey but compared to some ebay oprices thought it was good,
and black bob im up near santa pod so would of been a trek and half lol, thanks for the offer though
