A tree hugger van??? :) It's a van but built in 1988 same age as me land rover
-
Tree hugger vans,,,you know the ones that look like a pope mobile
With special peddles you can press down wearing crocks :->
and enough headroom to get the big hat and dreds into.
huge windows for the save the this and that stickers .
and loads of space in the back for recycleing and humus :->
can you guess I don't like them
-
Well i used to play in one of these as a kid and have always had a soft spot for them it was made in Luton... :)

-
I tell you what i thought i would get some real wazz taken out of me at work cause i'am 6'3" tall but loads of people in the mototrade has worked on fleet's of them and they all said they are good little motor's (just don't crash it!!)  and it's great shopping in them never struggle for parking spaces must say prefer the Land rover big time though!!
-
bedford rascal???
I used to have one of them 'many moons' ago.
It was great for slinging the bikes in & acting as a changing room
Totally scary on the m-way, when National Express coaches come past, pushing you to the side with their displaced air.
Also... dead easy to spin!
I spun mine on a wet roundabout at about 10-15MPH. Mindst you the spilt diesel probably didn't help
-
Looks good just needs a lift and a V8 slotting in the back
-
Always wanted one of them when I passed my test....
Too much misspent youth watching Sooty and Sweep
-
I now go the back way to work (not much national speed limits and no dual carrageway!!) Scary thing is i bought another for spares and am now looking at puttting that on the road also seen a daihatsu hi jet at the right price and bought that as well so currently have 5 vehicles in the house hold
-
I got a 125 motorbike...
£70 for insurance
£15 to tax
120 mpg  its costs £5.50 to fill the tank and lasts me well over 2 weeks!
-
I got a
....pair of legs & some bikes
It's roughly 5 miles by road, and about 4 & 1/2 'cross-country'; over the fields, through the woods & the River Calder banking.
Running takes on average 30 - 31minutes 'cross-country', & about 20minutes taking it easy on the bike.
I've been tending to alternate the 2 activities
In the past 2 weeks (1st - 16th), the 110 covered 32miles!!!!
Sadly, since Monday, it's done 140miles!
SWMBO is working away, so I've been doing the 'school-run'
Plus, I went to Greetland (Halifax) in it yesterday to do the Cyclo-Cross
Anyway it's back to run today/ride tomorrow
I need the extra running, as it's my first 5-mile road-race on Saturday 8-[ 8-[ 8-[ 8-[
If the circuit is going to be the same as in previous years, I've already made the mistake of looking at the course record
-
I car share with my mate from work so the Disco only really gets used every other week - unfortunately this still costs me around £60 per week when I do drive....!!!!
So I'm now on the look out for a cheap little run around. looking for a little 106 diesel or probably a Fiesta Zetec.
I worked out that depending what I spend on the car in the first place it will completely pay for itself within 12-16 months and I really can't see the fuel prices dropping anytime soon.
Mark.

Bedford Rascal.... wasn't it one of those that the Hampster tried a Scandinavian flick in? And failed!
-
RASCALS RULE!
if you own a rascal and can resist doing this then you are a man of iron...

i bought a fiat punto 55 for mr's to run aound in as ive got a company van during the week , and the disco is only used weekends
ebay special £271
-
I've been running around in this for the past couple of months
(http://inlinethumb42.webshots.com/41001/2236879800102123940S500x500Q85.jpg)
Its been saving me a fortune
45mpg and cheaper fuel than derv
It's using half the fuel of the Discovery
The only downside, its a 1.6 so no cheap tax but compared to the Tdi, its a rocket ship
:D
-
Daily drive is now a diesel Focus which is doing 48-52 MPG and I also have the works van so the V6 Shogun only moves on a weekend :D
-
I bought this for the time being, as the V8 Disco was costing a bit much on the run from Southampton to Manchester every week.

Soon as I am settled in Bolton in a few weeks I'll be on the hunt for a new Landy, preferably a TD5 90, but beggers cant be choosers eh..
-
OK,
Working form home every other week which is quite a lot of saving as I commute from Cornwall to Glos, then train to London weekly! BUt this is mainly becuase we have just had our first child.
Alos looking at removing the "beast rack" a big brownchurch safari rack, however I needed it for the first time in 3 monts to get some plasterboard so until our flats finished its best to keep it on.
Ironically I have a very economical car, my Elise does stupid miles per gallon even with the mods, I nearly fainted when it used almost HALF what I use in the freelander to get from stroud to camborne. The only problem is I dont want to leave it at the train station for 3 days and its on limited miles insurance.
PS I think rascals are cool, no one who drives one is uncertain of their manhood (unless its a florist van)
-
So, the idea this wonderful goverment has of increasing road tax and fuel duty is to reduce the amount of traffic therefore reduce immissions is just increasing the amount of cars we own!
Not sure where the logic is in that! :?
-
That RASCAL is screaming out for a trick paint job with big gnarly teeth on the front.
-
i reakon it should be painted as the A Team u knows it fool
-
The disco's my daily drive but, after doing the daily 45mile round trip just to get to and from work, then on average another 30 - 40 miles while at work ,
I have now fortunatley, changed jobs. The company is closer and I get a van with fuel card
The disco will now evolve
-

-
I've moved my seat back a bit in both the van and the Disco,
Makes it easier not to boot it
-
There was this ZX9-R engined rascal floating around a while ago was scary fast!
