Hi,
The gearbox on my Kreg '92 200 tdi manual Disco is getting very crunchy :(
Where's the best place for a cash and carry recon box? Also if I'm going to fit a new one, is it possible to upgrade to the R380 box as there won't be much difference in price?
Cheers, Rich

I gather youre not in the UK so this will probly not be so practical but I used Ashcroft for the gearbox on my 90.

Cheers,
Yes I'm in Spain but I'm over for 3 weeks in Aug, when I'll buy one ready for transporting home in March 09. :D

Ashcrofts are good and know their stuff, regarding the 380, yes you can fit it. I have one in my 200.

Cheers, folks.
Crazymac, Is it a straight swop or are there any mods to do?

Mine was already done when I bought it, but I don't believe its difficult? I think its just down to using the same bellhousing? no doubt you could get a better answer on here.

Relatively straight swap. You will need to swap in the speedo housing and the hand brake housing from an LT77, or you could just swap over the transfer box if you get just the R380 main box. The speedo on the R380 has a different sender and different cable. The handbrake also has a different setup, so I thought it easier to swap in the LT77 related bits.
Altho the mouning are different the transfer box has the right holes for either setup. If you are getting a bare main box and just swapping in the transfer box off the LT77 then this is not going to be an issue. Otherwise just swap the mounting about.
