See my more informative reply posted in reply to the same question posted by someone else.

At least it is more informative than that provided by the Land Rover fraternity

I think the block is the same as the 1324 engine I think you need to change the dizzy rhino ray sells modified ones. so should fit.

I have a sj 410 with a swift gti lump in, the engine mounts are in more or less the same place but the swift has three mounts on but you only really need to use two, the worst part is sorting the wiring but it is not impossible. Well worth doing though, the smile factor is great, incidently i am selling mine if you are interested in one already converted.

You need a device to move the dizzy, rhinoray(!!!!) or D&G tuning(much better)
And I believe an adaptor ring on the tranny. Why bother tho, 1300cc is still 1300cc. Fit a TDi, waterproof, better mileage, better torque, and loads of power.
I had a 1.7 Isuzu(vauxhall) Tdi and a Manta 5 spd box. Excellent to drive, submarinable with a snorkel.
Ive still got the truck in bits at the mo. for sale as a project......
