Title: double carden prop shaft, will this work?
Post by: roccodog on July 01, 2008, 21:21:44
Does anyone know if it is possible to make a double carden prop shaft by connecting two flanges from a prop together using a uj then bolting it to the transfer box end of the front prop on a disco.

As wizard found out, just fixing 3 UJs togther is not enough. The double cardon joints used on propshafts have a ball and socket arrangement linking the spiders of 2 UJs together as a pair so that they move exactly the same amount and in the same direction to prevent it all just flip flopping about.
