Here is the problem guys, I have 2 Disco's but i will have to sell one as I need to buy a small car because of the fuel costs  I plan to keep one of my beloved Discos for fun and towing the horses but not sure which one? My old green 200tdi K plate is off the road (18 months) at the minute and has all the usual rust problems but it is a great reliable work horse that has never failed me yet towing plus it has many new mechanical parts fitted. Only snag is it would need the body work stripped down a bit and welding which would be fine to do but no where as yet to store it while being stripped. The one I currenty use is the blue 300tdi s which looks great, is younger, has a full MOT and a wee bit of rust. But I do not trust it as it has blown it's head once on a long motorway journey and that was without the horses  It is very tempremental and ditches it's water at frequent intervals and no one can find the root cause. So which one would you keep in my situation? Any help most appreaciated

sell the 300tdi. if you dont trust it get rid of it, but try and get the 200tdi on road asap dont leave it another 18months.
i dont 100%trust mine but mines only for playing and doing green lanes with the club, but when you need it to complete ajob you need something you can trust, cheers

Drag the engine from the 200 into the 300! plus any of the new bits that are interchangable!
You get a reliable Disco that is rust free!!
break the rest to get some cash!

i always thought it was hard to swap them over

It shouldn't be? especially if you swap engine and transmission as one! Everything is in a similar place, but even if you want to keep the R380 box with the 200 its still an easy swap.
