well the battery is fully charged, turns adn fires when connected to another car but doesnt fire on its own, solenoid clicks away, but no joy? its pointing towards starter motor???
anybody got any pictures as the haynes isnt vewry forthcoming??? before I buy a new one tommorrow.

no, battery is fully charged? however when i connected the jump leads to the other car, it started straight away????
everything points to the starter motor but how come it works with another battery hooked up???

Try swapping batteries over to prove? - although it does sound like a faulty battery if it starts fine when jumped.

But if the battery is fubared then it wont take or hold charge how ever long you charge it for. When trying to start it on its own to the lights on the dash go dim when you try the starter?

I'm with the general opinion here. Battery is kaput.

When my last starter went I had the symptoms of a flat battery and managed to start with jumpleads, but the starter had gone. Presumably the extra amperage of 2 batteries persuaded the thing to turn over, albeit slowly.

i had a simular problem it turns out that the amp hours on the battery were two low so i upgraded to a 86 ah (i think) from a sprinter van now its fine the ah on it befor was 20 what do you have on at the moment?
