Title: team building
Post by: woody on July 19, 2008, 10:01:49
well the students have gone so someone suggested we do some team building
great idea night away camping then walk up a hill
so tuesday teatime we stop at a campsite just through Kirkstone pass
great meal and some beers

wed morn we set off to walk up  to fairfields (i think)
well this turned out to be a 5 hour trek
the first hour was a reasonable walk up
then the next hour and half scrambling up rocks
lunch sat on the top of a bloody mountain in 60 mph winds great fun
then we walked across the tops and down to a lake
the last 45 mins was down the side of a cliff on a small track

just remember if you work with a
mountain leader who has been all over the world leading groups
and a scout leader (explorers)
you are going to knackered at the end of the day
it was a great day and the only place that ached was my shoulders
from carrying my rucksack
next time we do team building i am organising it
something easy like fishing or a brewery trip

Do it in a Land Rover next time, saves on energy and doesn't hurt yer shoulders..... ;)

I Assume that when you drove the x5 it was on the road, cos if it was on any other sort of surface I can almost guarantee that you would have been finding out how comfy your shoes are while walking for help

Aye it was on the road as it had just been sold - although i can tell you that you can fit 13 little baby trees in the back of one of them! lol
