That is just sickening  :(

There is no way they should have even had to think about bringing a case against him, let alone charge him :(

That's exactly what I thought too. Do they honestly think any punishment a court could hand down would be worse than losing four of your children?

Thats absolutely crap!!!! "deciding if it is in the public interest!!" what a load of tosh!!

There is no way they should be pursuing Gresh for this, and to remand him in custody as well!!!!! What do they think he's gonna do????

The family have been through enough, and are slowly trying to pull their lives together and deal with their loss, There is no way it is in the public interest to go down this route!! Sooooooooo angry about this!

Aside from that there was talk that it was the van drivers fault who basically forced Gresh to take the route he did - nothing has been said on that?

why has he been remanded in custody :? surely thats way over the top its not like he,s going to disappear, the only people who have suffered are gresh and his partner and the remaining kids, why the hell is it in the publics interest to see a prosecution carried out on this poor man, he has been given a life sentence as it is, i,m sure there,s not a day that goes past he doesnt beat himself up over the accident, i for one have no interest in seeing it played out again in the media i would be far more interested in seeing the police pursue the morons who carry knives about than this

I don't know how to go about it but something should be done to show the authorities that they have got things wrong here, its a total travesty and should not have happened the way it has.

Release Gresh and squash the case, its ridiculous.

Not sure what we can do but there must be a way we can all show our support for the whole family

I agree that this is a senseless waste of public money and NOT in the public interest.  There are so many of us that know the family and the kids and know or at least can begin to imagine what they went through.

Ok back to the question. Gresh was remanded in custody pending going in front of a magistrate. Don't forget this is standard if magistrates are sitting at the time and one they would have been pre arranged. Gresh was then bailed to appear at Crown Court. So at least he isn't locked up and seperated from his family.

My thoughts are with them and I hope we can do something to help stop this travesty of justice. I don't know how Gresh will be for getting legal aid or anything but he needs a good barrister.

If there's a fund started/needed then I'm happy to contribute.

Gresh and his family have been through the utterly unimaginable. However, whilst I sympathise with Gresh's sitiuation, it is sadly the way of the law to determine and apportion blame in the event of road related deaths, dispite our personal desires for the contrary.

For a moment, if we imagine it was someone from outside our community and not someone as highly respected, would we be feeling the same now? Suppose it was some no-name in an Mondeo............? Sadly, it happens day in and day out.

In theory, the ladder of law has no top and no bottom and even 4x4 owners will get treated like everyone else (in theory).  :( The law has due process and much as though it galls me to the marrow to say this, this case is being 'processed'.

I'm making no judgement on Gresh's part in the tragic loss of four of his children - that will be the doing of the courts and jury to do, I'm just saying that whilst emotive and tremendously painful for all of us, this sad process has got to be gone through. I wish him the best in this because as stated, he's been through enough already.

I hate being the bearer of bad news, especially to folk who sincerely give thier best wishes for one one of our own.   :(

Like Wanderer, I would support any fund offering the family legal aid.

It is just shocking.

There would definately be a case for Lagal Aid and the liberty of the accused is at risk.
Again, our thoughts go out to the Gresham family.

Im shocked

Words actually escape me on this one,

Can we have the point of view of any Linconshire police who are members?

After just spending 4 days with Gresh and the family, and having spoke to friends who are there now, can I just say that this family have suffered, and are still suffering.

I would appreciate and no doubt Gresh and his family would, if posts on this subject were kept to the very minimum in respect of him and his family.  I am sure he would be grateful under the circumstances.  Thanks

I'm locking this now.
