I love my old Disco (well - I admire the abuse she's taken over the last 3 years!) but I've been offered a later RaRo. L Reg 200tdi (93) with nice Black minilite-looking wheels, snork, steering & light guards, bullbar, leather, and nice bodywork.
It needs an alternator & battery, an an MOT (been standing for 6 months since the tax ran out. What's it worth? (As is or with mot)

A couple of pics of said beastie. Wheels are 17inch Scorpion items

Rust?
Like discoverys, RRCs hide it very well, but having a good poke round the under side will tell you as much about its value as anything else.
Without an MOT you have no garantiee of its general condition and may need a lot of to get one and just because a RRC has an MOT doesn't neceserily garantee it won't need any welding either.

All seems remarkably solid - certainly better than the Disco as that needs a couple of patches each year
-
:rolleyes:Before saying it's OK, check under the front carpets both sides, a normal rotty place, rear x member body mount area both sides, seatbelt mounts on rear arches, easily checked. Obviously a good look at the cills both sides.
That said I bought one like that ostensibly good, needing a rear x member, with a Daihatsu diesel in it for £350.00 so really the bling adds nothing in my view without a valid MOT. Absloute max i would say is a grand as thats what it's worth in bits !
-
Why 'Rolleyes'? I do know what to look for, and where. Didn't say it was all ok, just that it was remarkably solid. And if you want it for a grand, you can pick it up tonight.
-
he didnt say he wanted it for grand, just thats the max it would be worth! personally i wouldnt touch it, had two rangies now, both looked good (until i stripped the fronts off and went to town with a rust finding screw driver!)
if it hasnt got an mot on it, offer 500 or less! not worth much more than that in my opinion. the combined price of both of mine was less than two grand!

and it shares the body shell of the disco

I disagree, it is worth that as scrap....
If solid, inner wings, sills chassis etc and a good runner I would be tempted to go up to around £700 to £750 no mot
IMHO it looks a nice motor and has potential ;)
If you got the gonads tho offer him scrap money but be ready to barter [-o< [-o<
let us know if you buy it or not ;)

Who? Me? It's already on my drive! I was just curious as to what people thought it was worth!
I'm torn between flogging it as is and making a few quid, getting it mot'd and flogging it and making a few more quid, or keeping it and flogging the Disco. Have to decide fairly soon, cos SWMBO is getting seriously p****d!

Ah - that was the 23rd - by the 25th it was on my drive. Think I'll stick with the Disco tho. So if anyone fancies it for £850... Ebay beckons I think.
