 Working on car tonight, replaced small hose that runs from Turbo to injector pump, took all the hoses off to get clear access and thought, whats that?
It was the actuator for the turbo, underneath the turbo  i had been playing with something on the injector pump, one of the actuators attached to the throttle cable.......
Now, how on earth do you get to it to adjust it? from what i can see the end of the rod has no circlip on it and will not detach from the armature to enable an adjust, any advice.
as of tonight i have realised i am a numpty........................................

200tdi or 300.... 200's can be adjusted slightly, 300's are best left at factory boost.....

300 tdi. To be honest the amount of cleaning i have done it runs far better than before, adjusted fueling, cleaned intercooler, removed EGR cleaned crank case breather. how hard do you all drive your vehicle, feels it should be driven hard but i am reluctant too incase i break it, has done 117K. do get a whistle/whine from turbo when reved above 3k rpm and have checked tightened all hose repeatedly...
all your thoughts and driving habits would be appreciated..

Well, do you have a snorkel, as that can sometimes excentuate the turbo whistle.... i'd leave the boost alone if it's a 300, they run pretty high anyway......
the only real way to know what boost it is running, is to connect a boost gauge, and check that way, not hard to do, but if it drives ok with everything clean, i'd let it be.....

Cheers disco Ron
Have fitted Boost Gauge initially it will run up to 1.5Bar but then settles.... not sure if that is good but looking at it tonight it has never been touched...

mate that seems really high to me it should be 0.8 to 1.0 bar as standard but to be honest i dont know how far you can go before they let go 8-[
