I do as it seems to work better out in fields. What you will probably need is a bigger tip as flux wire tends to be thicker than non flux.

A lot of hobby migs have a plastic/nylon liner I've found that if you change it for a steel liner one size up from the wire it works better as bigbluemaverick said the gasless wire tends to be a bit thicker and also a bit uneven hence the slightly bigger liner .

they also say to reverse the polarity on the mig ie. poz to the earth clamp and neg to the hand set but I've never bothered and it still works well..

hope this helps Lee...

can be done, have heard that certain welders don't like it....just what i hear. you would be much much better with Co2 or even better argoshield. i don't like the flux coat if i wanted that i would buy an MMA unit!

Hello,

Although I have not tried welding yet I did get a welder for Christmas.

The no-gas stuff with flux in is allegedly carconogenig and more and mor people are not stocking it. Like they say above its for outrdoor use (welding gates etc) as the gas shield from co2 or arogshield will blow away in the wind.  I also hear that its spattery and not as nice so unless you really need to weld outside then id avoid it.

try www.mig-welding.co.uk  (http://www.mig-welding.co.uk) lots of tips and a forum like this one.
