Title: Need a new exhaust for my V8

Hello all,

The middle box on my 96 Disco V8 has gone (blowing), and I need to replace it.  The Disco is totally standard and does a lot of motorway miles so quiet is important.............having said that, I would like to add a little bit of vrooooom to the exhaust note (but nothing silly).

Any suggestions please, or should I just stick a standard off-the-shelf exhaust on from my local Quick Fit?

one of these  45 quid in stainless steel and one or 2 decibel inserts

That's interesting.... Does that go in place of the centre box?  How much louder is it?

300 series would be a tiny bit quieter , yep middle box off that on thats it

this was mine older one kept the middle box on

now im going striaght through mid pipe and  twin tail pipes

tail pipes or mid striaght through?

straight through pipe is ebay 45 quid

tail pipes my own creation pm me for details

Thanks for the replies.  After having a good old poke around underneath at my local LR garage, I have decided to go for a standard box (£100 fitted) as I do a lot of motorway miles in this motor, and keeping it quiet is important (I travel over 500 miles everytime I see my children).

Once the exhaust needs replacing on the 110 V8, that's a different matter!  Two straight through pipes would go well on that!  :twisted:
