Hi every one been working on the front end getting some jobs done new grill new driving lights repainted bumper painted the plastic betwen the bumper and lights black did not look good body colour.
-
Looking good - I'm considering painting the plastic trim below the lights on mine to match the new grille too (as it transpired that the colour I asked Halfords to mix wasn't the colour of my car, despite what it said on the car paperwork!)
-
Better get some bonnet pins now, dont want the thing lifting at speed, mine is but luky for me the bonnet catch is hard work to open, I'm hoping it'll hold and few months till I can get the pins....

With mine it was Niagara Grey, which turned out to be a very dark anthracite grey rather than the sort of blueish slate grey on the car.
Well, if Audi can get away with a huge lump of black plastic for a grille regardless of the colour of the rest of it then why can't I have a dark grey one!

Why would the bonnet lift at speed? 159,000 miles on mine and no incidents.... surely they're just cosmetic on anything thats not a competition motor?

Looks good Jeff.... any chance you could post a pic of the airbox on yours for me, i need to see how much room there is with the southdown snorkel..... i can;t work out how to fit mine with a twin battery set-up.....

The bonnet pin thing has always puzzled me. Mine has failed to latch in the past but I cured the problem by drowning the mechanism in WD40 and operating it a few times. It's been fine ever since. There's a fail-safe anyway in the form of the thing you have to push to one side to lift the bonnet?

I only fitted pins on my 200 after i removed the two angled braces under the slam panel, the bonnet did seem to flex an awful lot more after that..... i only removed them to get the winch back as far as i could.....

Hi Ron here you go hope this helps i still have the one battery but i think you could put one of the small Optima battery's in there there are some people out there that have done it. I have never had any dramas with the bonnet popping up so bonnet pins are right down on the list of thing to fit.
