Hello one and all.
I have a large industrial compressor in the garage, but no idea about spray equipment
I don't want to spend massive amounts, ideally seacondhand equipment through ebay,.
But what will I need?
I'll be spraying outside my gagage in the middle of the countryside under a barn roof.
So I have a compressor, what else do I need???
Thanks

Paint would make a good start!!!! ( )
I will look forward to the answers to this.
Being a fridge engineer I can get hold of fridge compressors and 'receiver tanks' so could make up a 'system' fairly simply, i would of thought!
Was thinking what extras like regulators/inline moisture traps etc etc....... i might need???

2 problems:
1, tank size, you do not want to be running low on pressure with a paint gun, so short bursts and let the tank fill up.
2, dust, painters nemesis, you need a spray booth in the barn, could be rigged up with tarps etc, otherwise you will have an artex car!

Yeap, rig up a tent with heavy PVC sheets and stiff poles to make a roof, then wet the floor (not soaking, you don't want to splash the car).
You want an oil/water trap in your air line, these usually come with a pressure regulator so I have mine near to me and run the compressor outlet full open to overcome the loss in the supply pipe.
You want a decent ish spray gun, be wary S/H as many cheap ones don't last. A S/H Devillbiss would be the dog's.
A cleaning kit and plenty of gun cleaner

More importantly.....
A GOOD face mask or respirator. If you are spraying paint, you don't want to be breathing it in. I have an air-fed respirator which came from somewhere like Machine Mart or Northern tool... didn't cost the earth and it is much nicer to use than some of the silly masks.
For paint, I tend to use these guys.. http://www.jawel.co.uk/ They do a nice selection of primers and they also carry 2 pack, acrylic, synthetic and water based paint.
Cheers

NOT that you want to be painting 2-pack at home, if you don't have all the correct spray booth in addition to a forced-air full face mask then the risk is too high that you will poisen not only yourefl but someone else.
