My brother's in the BMW performance trade and took an order late 90s some time from a Middle Eastern client for a pair of BMW M5s fitted with McLaren F1 engines (which were based on a BMW V12). It was looking like a juicy order but unfortunately McLaren wouldn't allow the engines to be fitted to anything other than their own cars.

mclaren missed an opportunity there, can u imagine a beemer with an f1 engine in it

Plus the Ferrari 456 estates, etc..

Post by: Boddle on August 21, 2008, 10:30:30: Hmm from memory the chassis was a P38a (whatever it says) they were made by a company called RDS Automotive in Southam (went out of bussiness in 2005) I was working there when the started the project each vehicle cost about Â£1,000,000 at least 1 was lost in a fire after I left but hte Sultan still payed for it, never actually seen the end product not sure I like it either.
