Title: indicator problem
Post by: Dave_ on August 26, 2008, 18:47:42
when i indicate right, all flashes as normal until i put my foot on the brake, then the indicator stops and the brake flashes?
iv taken the right light pod off, there doesnt seem to be any corrosion, but a couple of the bulbs have gone black at the top  but the filament hasnt broken...is that the problem??  any other ideas?

I'd say you have an earthing problem there.

Sounds like it could be an earthing problem, probably a dirty connection.
If its a classic, I think the earth connection for the rear lights is on the drivers side up high above the headlining.

is it an easy job?

i had a similar problem with my disco, and all i made was a new earth link cable for both rear lights, by putting a screw through the rear metal with an eye terminal on the link cable then screw the other end in to the body behind the cluster
