Title: Leak from Td5 Disco
Post by: Landyrover on August 27, 2008, 21:26:30
Hi All,

Drove back from Scotland today in Td5 Disco, noticed what looks like water dripping off the middle of the front propshaft? Can't squeeze under side steps (must get 'em off) to see what's what... any ideas?

Cheers,

Nick

Check the heater pipe that runs round the back of the engine (Up Top), Mine chaffed on the bulkhead and stated to leak.. If that's what it is it's an easy fix and only £7 for the pipe..

Is it the aircon?  Mine drips quite a noticeable amount of water from that area;  it's just the aircon condenser.  I've had people "warn" me about it at petrol stations before, so it's quite noticeable.

As Thermidore says it sounds very much like the Air con drain tubes, theres one either side of the prop/gearbox,

Thanks for the replies guys :)

It's a manual, no coolent loss or obvious source of leaks that I can spot. I wondered about the air con, this usually dries on the drive and leaves no mark - what drew my attention to this was that the spots were leaving their mark. However, air con was on pretty much throughout the 400 mile drive yesterday... a spot or two dripped from the same spot this morning after a quick run - without the air con on. I'll leave it off for the next day or two and see if it continues to drip - before it all gets a liberal coating of mud underneath at the Birthday Bash on Saturday! :D :D :D

Cheers,

Nick
