as the thread says can any one recommend a rear work light for a Disco 1, will be mounted on the vertical panel just right of the rear door. any pictures appreciated.
will also be wired to turn on remotely from inside cab when extra light is required for reversing
Pictures would be good. :D

i have seen and am planning myself fitting a front Spot light on the rear, some thing fairly small but powerful, and have it on a bracket that can be angled to where i need it for working
-
exactly my thoughts, the work lamps i have looked at online would appear to have limited movement if i mounted on rear of Disco. :-k
-
I'd go for the left mesell leek - having the lamp on the right will mean most of the useful light is gone if you open the door - if its on the left it wont make any difference......
I'm gonna mount one on the back of my roof-rack at some point, when I can be bothered............
-
I have one on the left gutter (CB aerial gutter mount) that works well - have managed to link it to the brake lights and on an independant switch - I'll see if i can dig out the circuit diagram if anyone wants it.

dont mean to sound to thick, but why have you linked a Work light/ reversing light to the Brake lights???
-
that what i was thinking every time he brakes blinds whoevers behind him. ive got a work light on left hand side that has seperate switch to turn on and of and also comes on when in reverse :D
-
meant attached to reversing light not brake!
circuit diagram attached, A is a switch near the drivers position to select whether the work light comes on with the reversing light, B is a switch just inside the back door to turn the light on as needed, -ve connection was to the earth point above the rear light cluster, +ve to the 12S trailer electrics behind the right light cluster and the "reverse light" was connected to the feed to the left hand cluster reversing bulb. photo of light location also attached - excuse the sunk land rover.
hope this helps,

I have a work light on my Disco i will try and post some phots tomorrow. I have it wired up to a switch on the dash separate from the reverse lights. Its monted on a CB mount. Jeff

One thing I need to do is sort out my reverse light switch before I fit a lamp - its got the old 300TDi 'will only work if you force the lever as far as it will go' symptoms - I've not taken the washer out from under it yet but I have it on 'The List'.....
Mine wil be on the lefthand side and wired to the second battery so i can use it night when parked up camping - better than a tilley lamp, but nt as 'atmospheric'.........
