The Disco TD5 air box connects to the wing through a rectangularish section length of plastic ducting.
It bolts to the wing via 2 coarse threaded metal studs on the wing, secured by 2 crappy plastic nuts. You can't tighten the nuts because the threads jump.
The mating face of the ducting, in addition, is not particularly flat. This makes sealing the ducting to the wing in a watertight manner a challenge. I suspect it's currently as watertight as a pair of knitted swimming trunks; a though that went through my mind as I waded the newly-dredged Meavy ford a couple of weeks back.
Has anybody come up with a neat way to solve this? One option would involve lots of silicone sealant; a better way would be to die the existing useless studs and use a decent nut on them. Or drill out the studs and use a bolt. Before embarking on any of these I though I'd see if anybody else had already worked out a cunning plan.

we replaced the studs and used silicone on outs. eayeyest way to do it.

While sealing the mating face is all good surely water will get in through the hole in the wing.

No worries on that front, there's a snorkel the other side of it :D

I just used lots of silicon around mine, and it's been fine. After I remembered to seal up the hole in the bottom of the air box that is :oops:
