Title: Feeling rough...
Post by: Boggert on September 13, 2008, 21:58:02
Have been put on some horse sized antibiotic pills after hacking into my finger with the grinder and crikey do they make me feel rough, Firstly an acid feeling  with a manic headache then dizzyness... going backto the docs to have my finger checked tomrrow, will talk about the pills then.

Anyone know if this is normal, i'm not one for taking pills!

If it were me I'd ditch the AB's* and dose both the cut and myself in good Scotch.

*I have NO faith in western chemical pharmaceuticals at all, its a bit like using a 12 bore to shoot a sparrow IMO.

Now there is an idea!

What was you prescribed?  Don't forget that alcohol and antibiotics don't mix very well.

I haven't had them that strong but Wifey did a while ago and she felt really bad.

Stock up on the bog roll as well - that will be the next effect it has!

I've kept away from the boose, so its just side affects...

They are called Flucloxacillin...

I guess its normal, but as someone who is not use to taking pills its a bit freaky.

That will give you a very low life expectancy then.  Developed countries with their Western chemical pharmaceuticals have an average life expectancy 11 years higher than the less developed countries which don't use them.  Granted there are other factors, but as a test, let's get rid of all those nasty Western pharmaceuticals and see what happens to death rates.

Boggert, take Actimel, it replaces the bacteria in your stomach that the antibiotics are killing (as well as the bacteria in your finger), seriously it really works, take one every time you have a tablet, have 2-3 now and you will feel better by the morning.

Just a note to say that antibiotics will also kill off "friendly bacteria" found in these drinks whilst your still taking them. Flucloxacillin is horrible for side effects, ask the Dr for something different. Keep drinking plenty of water!

Hope you feel better soon.

Well has the dressing changed, I just could not face taking the pill, so i didn't bother... what a fool I was...

The finger blew up like a baloon, started throbbing and oozing.... great! the doctors worry is the infection would get into the joint, so I'm back on the horse pills!

I will drink loads...

Fluclox plays merry hell with your internals, including your head (they can make you feel very bad) - but the infection could be worse. However, if they make you feel really bad, ask your doc to move you onto something more expensive, like penicilin. However, if you feel any antibiotoc isn't working and the infecvtion is getting worse - go back to the docs or get to hospital.

Just don't ask me how I know.

I was OK when I was on Fluclox (I seem to have the constitution of a concrete rhinoceros) but HWTHSBO felt pretty ropey for a few days.

Hope the finger is improving and that you have not done too much lasting damage.
