We've been through that one on Elvers Green Lane when it was over the bonnet
Properly prepped you shouldn't have a problem, have you extended the axle breathers etc yet?
Have you done the ford at the end of Hob Lane? Seen disco's float across that one when its in flood
Where's the second one?
-
No, you'll be fine, the water's not that deep, it's the bow wave that makes it look worse than it is.
-
sweet! not done the breathers yet waiting for the safari to arrive!
erm the first on is barston ford the second is sheepy magna
-
That's always the issue with deep wading, you'll get people tell you TDis are better than V8s and all that guff but at the ned of the day it's the axles that will suffer long term (and bodywork of course) from a dunk in the water.
LR advise 18 inches IIRC, that's about halfway up the wheels :-k
-
The top of the wheels is perfectly ok. Good pics!
-
thats fine. If your worried just change your diff oils. Not a big job. Best to be safe...
-
.....and check the swivels as well. The CVs are in there and they don't like water.
Fitting raised axle breathers and a timing case breather (assuming TDi) is a good idea even if you don't fit a snorkel.

dont forget wadding plugs for the bell housing and timming cover you dontwhant a trashed clutch or timing grear due to sand or grit getting in there just take them out after your fun
