Hi all,
I've managed to loose my right rear endcap... on the M6... admittedley it was hanging on by cable ties but I'm ashamed I cant say it was ripped off by foliage this time
So you are invited to show or tell me what cunning and ingenious solutions you lot have come up with to replace these daft things. I'm currently thinking a plate over the open corner and some kind of reflector stolen of a childs bike
The bit I'm undecided about is what to do about the raised bit at the back which covers the open hole in the rear quarter - some kind of wedge shape or simple upright plate but I dont want it to look too bodged.
Suggestions.....?

Would you believe I threw away a rear bumper today !
Why not just buy a replacement ??
There are several companies :lipsrsealed: that produce H/D rear bumpers so thats another option
Depending on your other mods I would suggest just getting a new end cap . Try the wanted section as there may be someone who has gone down the H/D route

There are a few on eBay for 99p at the moment

I have two off my 200tdi you can have for postage ;)
bit tatty and the reflectors were sprayed black when I painted them but they look ok :D

Find a nice local fabricator and see if they fancy a lunch time project or something to do in a bit of spare time, I have had a couple of odd bits and bobs done this way!

Cheers lads, I may just go for a replacement in the short term.
Lee, could I just scrape the spray off and use them do you think?
I'll definately be looking further into this as my own little project, I do a bit of welding myself so I want somthing permanent - cant keep replacing end caps, silly design.

Hi stu
I gave them a light coat of satin black and a bit of silicon spray to tidy them up a bit before I changed the back bumper the reflectors just got a light layer of over spray that would come off with a bit of rubbing with wire wool .
yours if you want them . I can send them from work for a fiver ;)
Lee...
I'll see if they come off the rusted lump I call the old bumper

I'll take em mate, how'd you want your fiver, I do paypal, cheques, notes etc.
Cheers Lee...
