can anybody let me know if it is possible and how hard it is to change the side sills and rear xmember for a discovery 1 300tdi i have access to metal and a welder
-
sills are fairly easy to done just a little time consumeing rear x member well patching easy, replacement part can be a pig to do :)
-
with the sills do you have to strip the seats out?do you know any where that makes new sills?
-
range rover blues did his sills step by step in his gallery think its about the same way for a disco
-
The sills for a range rover fit with a little trimming , and don't require the removal of large sections of floor, the only down side is that you need to drill the holes for the plastic rivets that hold the plastic sill trim on. the RRC ones are also about half the price, hope that helps.

You can buy pre fabbed units, paddocks did have some, although I think the supply is drying up on them, worth a look round though
As said rear (body?) crossmember patching is preferable over replacement, fitting and lining up the rotation onto the verticals is a swine, I did one and we removed one from a donor vehicle, easy to actually weld sod to get into the right position

This guy seems to have plenty available...

Typical, I found that after I had struggled to do mine, same as the rear floor panels, as in the side pieces not the main floor pan
Mine looks like a patchwork quilt
