Title: Ford v6 into 413?
Post by: vinrex7 on September 29, 2008, 14:24:56
Hi guys, I have been thinking that i need more power in my 413, And my m8 has a v8 range rover and i love the sound it makes. I know a v8 has been done but it would be a tight fit, so i'd like to fit a 2.8 from a capri. Has this been done before? how much work is involved? what gearbox would i use? If anyone has any links to sites where this has been done could they please post them? cheers guys

I'd love to go for a v8, but wouldn't it be heavier than a v6? what gearbox and t box would i need for the v8?

hi mate am useing a rover sd1 auto box  and useing the standard sammey t box should be ok and the v8 is leighter  than the v6 as the v8 is all alloy and the v6 is steel  the sd1 auto box is only 2 inch longer than the stock sammey box  ill post some pics up when i sort my camra out

^^^^ He's right about the weight. The RV8 is lighter than the Ford V6. When there were lots of scrap Granadas about the V6 was a good choice, but there are loads of rust Rangies now...so.... :)
