I am going to be replacing the clutch in the wife's Ford Focus at the end of the month [-o< . This requires the engine to be supported whilst removing the gear box, ford use a special bar, but alegedly it can be done with an engine hoist.
So.... has anyone in the Northants area an engine hoist that i cauld borrow for a few days whilst i do this? thought i would ask before i went off and aranged hiring one.
Cheers for now
Andy

andy get a length of scaffold bar and place that accross both suspension turrets and put a strong ratchet strap round the bar and on to the engine lifting point that is all the ford bit of kit is
but if you dont want to do that i have one but it is huge (will need a low flat trailerand some strong blokes to help lift it on and off) and leaks oil but only a small amount (its old and has been used on big trucks)
