Thats right, Morrisons have reduced petrol to 99.9 pence a litre, long may the drops continue
-
I've heard ASDA have also done it too ;)
-
Suppose theyve put the extra on Derv then lol
-
No mate, DERV is down to £1.10 a litre here!
Petrol 99.9!! hurrah!
-
Long may it continue!!
-
Just remember when we had the FIRST fuel blockades - they were complaining about paying 82pence per litre
raise the price artificially - then bring it down slightly -instant brownie points for 'reducing' and already overinflated price :police:
-
I want LPG to come back down the 40 pence a liter. [-o<

-
Hiya Andy - if your near to the JET at Dinnington unleadeds 99.9 having said that the MORRISONS at Halfway have been at 102.9 all week. Worth going to work so i can get cheaper fuel .
-
Might celebrate when diesel gets below £1

You make me feel old! :) When I passed my test it was still priced in gallons.....£1.99 a gallon anyone? I also remember thinking that fuel was expensive when 4* hit £2.10 a gallon.

You and me both, mate  There's nothing like a comment like "Do you remember the old classics like Fat Boy Slim, Right Here, Right Now" to make you feel well past it

The local BP to my work in Coventry has got petrol for 99.9 as well, which is fantastic for a premium brand.
Might be something to do with Morrisons over the road having it for 99p and Asda also having it up at 99p!
-
fossil fuel are coming to an end so where do u see our fuelling sourcing coming from :-k
-
I can remember my brother saying that when petrol hit £1 a gallon he'd sell his car - well he's still driving now
I started driving and it was about 50p a litre IIRC. now got the Paj and its 113.9 , so very gentle use of the right foot is called for..Mind you after 8mpg for our last petol powered V8 rangie - I think mid 20's isnt too bad.
One of my friends has a moped that takes £10 to fill...i can remember filling my C70 up with £1.50 lol

Yes fossil fuels "may" be coming to an end, but that end will not be in mine or your lifetime!!
-
hence they up the price when demand is high

No, they up the price when a barrel of oil costs more than double what it costs now and the pound is stong against the dollar!
-

I think it was 39p/litre when I bought my first car & it still seemed expensive!

yes of course as the base price but a local garage 15 perent more than morrisons
-
No it was baseball boots and 4 pints of Theakstons best bitter for a quid.
-
I heard on the radio morrisons has now come down to 97.9p a litre.
Fat chance I will get petrol below a £1 any time soon as Daventry the thieving gits like to always be at least 5p more than anywhere else in the country as we dont have a supermarket selling petrol in the town and driving to a supermarket station to fill up is too far away to gain a saving still. :'(

We're like that as well, the nearest supermarket is 15 miles away, so its only worth it when we're in town for a few reasons.
-
Thanks for making me feel old when i passed my driving test i use to keep 50p in the car to buy a gallon of petrol in case the car ran out.
-
Its just dropped to 99.9 at our local sainsburys, we seem to be a bit behind everyone for price drops round here, yet the conning young men at BP are still more than everywhere else by a good few pence on petrol and about 5p up on diesel!
I seem to be getting around 25 to the gallon from the shogun which seems good so mustn't grumble too much, but i'd like it to get cheaper still, might offset things like bread and eggs going up so much!
-
Blimey, I can remember when I had my first car, I could get 4 gallons of petrol and still have change from a quid, <big sigh> ;)
-
Below a quid!
Only a year ago unleaded must;ve only been around 90p/litre .......... and crude's down to around $70 per barrel.
It peaked earlier this year aroudn the $147 mark and the selling price was 120p/litre for unleaded and 134p/litre for DERV. Still think we're getting a good deal?
-
morrisons in wednesbury 96.9 petrol an 103.9 for diesal :D makes u happy when u can afford to do a bit more mileage with the v8 singin
-
I saw ULSP on sale at 97.9ppl at a Shell in Peterborough this morning.
Diesel is still over a pound a litre though :|
There's very little profit in road fuels. For every £10 you buy, around £8.50 is tax. The remaining £1.50 is the VAT (yes, we pay tax on a tax), and covers distribution costs, staff costs etc. and only a penny or two is profit.
The oil company's profits don't come from road fuels, but the other products oil can be made in to like plastic, chemicals etc.

£94.9 tonight at Asda in Darlington woo hoo
Long may it continue
-
It won't continue as the oil producers are not making enough profit (by their standards) with the price of oil per drum dropping. So they have decided to reduce the amount of oil produced resulting in a raise for demand , therefore, pushing the prices up again. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. For those of you who can afford to, fill up while the prices are low.
-
Mind you - I have just put £15 in the tank and it was really good to see the needle move!

No but the providers are raking it in still, just heard on the news about BP's profits, bit like the power companies, all the brown stuff runs down hill and guess where we are?
-
Course they are still raking it in. What is an acceptable proffit margin to us will be vastly different to their idea I can tell you and we're all standing at the bottom of the hill. Time to take a deep breathe!

92.9 unleaded at swanage
-
Yea this is a scary debate it was about 80p when i passed ffor a litre, as for the future of fuels im reckoing hydrogen fuel cells, but then who really knows i guess biofuel is feasable but then i guess you dont know the diesel used to produced a litre of biodiesel lol
