Do it, it made huge difference to mine, but clean the intercooler out too.
There are details on here

cant seem to find any. so i will put some up :D

Good luck Boss, its on my list of jobs to do.
Let us know how you've got on, we've just mounted a massive intercooler on a mates truck, its already made a difference but fueling is next.
Its really handy - use his truck and wallet as a test bed, if its good, do mine :)

If needs be, you can shorten the waste-gate actuator rod and increase the boost. You may need to remove the actuator and cut a bit off the end of the rod to allow sufficient adjustment in the sleeve portion (don’t take too much off at once – better do it in 3mm increments !). What you will find is the rod is too long to get more boost, as too much of it screws into the sleeve and bottoms out. You will have to shorten it quite a way to get more than 1 bar boost – but this is often all you need. 200 Tdis run at 0.7 – 0.8 bar – you can safely increase this to 1 bar – 300Tdi’s run at 1 bar already – best left alone!
i 've got to agree with this don't touch the turbo on a 300

turbo mechanics is a delicate science that i do not pretend to understand! therefore i will be staying well away from there!

This Dodge Ram (http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/more_power/Power_ve.htm) site was the place I used to do my 300 TDi. They use the same injector pump as Land Rover but pay attention to the warnings!!
If you've got the standard intercooler then I would only rotate the diaphram through 90° otherwise you're only wasting fuel. ;)

ok chaps, im off to the garage. should be done by then end of today  but knowing my luck it wont!
-
How did it go?
-
Rather than arse about shortening the waste gate actuator rod (which is hard to get to) fit a boost regulator instead, they only cost about £20 and you can adjust them to your heart's content. Even if you don't increase max boost they will illiminate waste gate creep, helping improve pick-up and part throttle (low boost) running.

yes, sorry all i totally forgot about an update. took about 20 mins and i now know why there are no pics.....it is a really easey job! pretty straightforward and not much can go wrong. i did take photos anyway but let my camera at the garage. strange thing was that it looked like it had alredy been done! the cutout section of the diaphram had a dot punch on the plate above it, it wasnt fully facing the rear of the truck so i turned it a little more. going to flush and CLEAN the cooler next time im over there.
Range Rover Blues;
we have one floating about somewhere, my dad was going to fit it to the TD5 but something stopped him from doing it. are they easey to plumb in?
-
Yes mate, 10 minute job. All you have to do is find the 5mm hose from the turbo elbow to the waste gate, remove it and replace with a longer section that has the boost reg in the middle, then secure the reg somewhere that you can reach it easily like the inner wing. Whilst you're at at fit a boost guage to help you set it up, mine is semi-permenant in the cab (no backlight though) sp you can use it as an econo-meter. Adjust in small increments and make sure it's at it's lowest possible setting when you start.
Mine is a powertech, of the 3 I've fitted it was the best made.
-
ok cheersi will take a gander and let you know about that. :D
-
errrrrrm....yeah.......that worked!
YOU SHOULD ALL DO IT!
i know its a little different with mine but i took it out on the lane earler and just flored it. got to about 35-40 in second and got scared when the back end started skipping out!
made the exhaust note sound a little different too.
VRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOM! :D

there is more things to adjust that make them fly like poo

Just a word of advice mark everything and only carry out if you know what your doing or it could end in a big bang :-#

Is this the kind of thing you mean RRB?
