I need to renew the wires that run to the sensor on the head
without cut open loom i aint sure where they run to
i assume down to the throttle body but sure ??
anyone got any ideas.
Haynes and LR workshop manuals checked and about as clear as mud.

sensor in the middle of the head ?. aint that something to do with the e.g.r system . sure it is . so iff you have removed that i wouldnt be to worried . but it must go as you say to the throttle position sensor on top of the pump ..alan

thanks for that but not sure it has anything to do with the egr system which is blanked off.
should have said that i replaced the sensor because the connector broke off causing jerky acceleration
and poor running but since its bin renewed its not bin to bad.
i think i will have to trace it at least the wiring loom is already split just to make life a tad easier.

As was pointed out to me a few weeks back - that IS the temp sender for the EGR system - its opening point/duration is based on throttle postition AND engine temp, among others....
So if you have binned the EGR I wouldn't spend too much time/effort on it................
-
ok thanks for all the replys i think ill just ignore the wiring then.... ;)

Hi.
Taking on the advice above the head temp sensor may partly control the EGR but if you have a later 300 then you have EDC; and the head temp is fed to the ECU as an input to calculate fuelling according to throttle position, engine load, water temp etc.
Hope this helps, Dan

Hi Dan
Its not got EDC its just got EGR mostly blanked off tho but thanks for the info anyway. :)

I think it is EDC with Auto OR after 95?
