Post by: MudRat on October 30, 2008, 18:08:55
looking at buying a 56 plate (last of the old shapes) for approx £10k. Top spec model with 26k on the clock, any views on them? Also looking at the Quashqai, X trail, Outlander, grand vitara etc, any recommendations please let me know, must be diesel, reasonable MPG (I have a 50 mile round trip in it every day), Cheers

Hiya Lee - alright motors. We use them  for the Doctors out of Hours service in Derbyshire and have not been let down by them at all. Having said that my boss told me on Tuesday evening i've got to get used to driving a Mitsibushi Shogun as thats going be my new vehicle for Chritmas. Told her i'd rather have a Landrover.

Check the C02 on whichever model you choose as some will be in the higher tax bands (I think)

My parents have gone through all 3 versions over the years, always been good honest reliable cars. The mid-model (like you mentioned) worked well for them for three years, until the clutched failed (factory defect) which when they traded in for the later model.
