Title: At last
Post by: defuzz on February 27, 2005, 19:20:01
at last, a productive day under my disco.

Normally when I try and fix something, I usually end up quitting because I don't have the right tool ar am blatantly incapable.

Today though, I had a list of jobs to do and I actually got some of them done.

Hand brake stopped working, turns out to the pin holding the cable on the othe gearbox mechanism had dropped out.

Rear indicator knackered, re soldered the connections

Took the spoiler off the front bumper in preparation for fitting of a steering guard, I'll hopefully get around to trimming the end caps soon.....

Unfortunately I didn't have time to remove the side step, nor re wire the speakers, they will have to wait for next weekend I guess, I can't wait till the summer comes along, so I can get something done in the evenings after work instead of having to wait for weekends...

Not for the price. They make your engine and inside all toasty when you get in in the morning.

In a way yes. The unit draws the washer bottle water through itself and heats it up. You then just tap into your nozzle jets and jobs done

 Webasto HotShot (http://www.webasto-hotshot.com/index_us.php)

Guy your thinking of the pre-heaters which do what you say.

The cheap option is to fit a length off brake pipe into
the system and wrap it round the top hose..

Yes I set one of those types up Paul, onto one of my cars, just wound the main feed pipe round one of the heater hoses.

Also Something I bought in Germany was a kit which had a length of ally tube with a plastic sheath round it, and the pipe was cut and connected at each end of the plastic, worked a treat when the engine was warmed up.

Thats where that webasto one is better, can be used cold, would be a bit wary on jetting hot water onto a frozen windscreen though
