Disco all the way! Or if you're feeling hardcore, about a 90/110? Or, if you're wanting Jap, how about a Landcruiser?

You won't get an awful lot of 90 or 110 for that money apart from the old models or a tired early 1990s example.  You would get a very good Discovery 300TDi for that money however.

If you want utility, a half decent Series Station Wagon can be had for that money too if you look long and hard.

Well if you had ten times the amount then you could get a relatively new 110.  :P

Land Cruiser or Disco.  You should pick up a tidy 300tdi or V8 on gas for £1800.

The styling of the Delica is a very personal choice  , they have all the benefits of a full 4x4 like the Pajero with additional passenger space and comfort. There's a slight compromise for off road performance and spares are harder to get.

You'll certainly get more Pajero for your money than Land Rover or Land Cruiser and nearly all LWB Pajeros are 7 Seat. (Not all Land Cruisers or Jeeps are, not sure about Discos).

Alaric.

Bear in mind that spares and upgrades for Jap stuff are harder to get hold of. I know Delicas tend to need any upgrade parts imported from Oz, which costs a small fortune in P&P.

I would be a bit hesitant about recommending a Disco 1 for a seven seater, as the folding seats are not remotely comfortable and I wouldn't inflict them on anyone for long trips. If you can find an early Disco 2 then you get forward facing seats. I say early as 2001 and later models will be smacked with a huge tax hike in the near future.

What about this?

I am only selling it as we no longer have a caravan and I picked up a 406 with seven seats so its got to go.
If moneys tight the 406 seven seater diesel dose 40 mpg and seats seven people and can be had for less than a grand.
