Hi all,
I need a little help from you please.
I've returned from Holiday to find the battery flat on my Disco but I can't open the bonnet. I think I must have got some mud in the mechanism whilst at a play day about a month ago as I've never had a problem before. The cable hasn't snapped but I think I may have stretched it whilst giving it a good strong tug...lol
The front grill is standard and correctly fitted so i can't remove it without braking something and I have a steering guard fitted so access from below is somewhat limited.
Is there an easy solution to getting this open?
I've done the usual search and it just refers to the use of a hammer and screwdriver but I just can't see anything obvious to hit, poke, pull etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i had the same prob mark
I just got the crow bar and the sledge out lol
not advisable if you want to keep the bonnet catch or the slam panel lol

Try having someone push down on the front centre of the bonnet as you pull the release knob not so hard as to dent it tho! - it may just relieve the pressure enough for it to pop
Good luck!

Thanks for your replies.
My mate popped round today and as I pulled the cable he yanked on the bonnet and up she came... :D :D :D It was full of mud as I suspected. I cleaned it out with the pressure washer and gave it a liberal coating or grease and all's well.
