can you guys answer a few questions for me please.
whats the difference in mpg for a 2.5 or 2.8 diesle shogun to a 3000cc petrol?
whats the difference in power from a 200tdi to a 300tdi disco also mpg on both
how many mpg on a v8 disco with gas conversion?
are shoguns good offroad?
im really lost on what to get i fancied a delica but ive got to travel bloody 100s of miles to get 1 for under £2000

200tdi and 300tdi, very similar MPG, V8 on LPG, similar to petrol, but LPG is cheaper per litre. Shoguns????

Iv had both 2.5 shogan and 2.8 also a v6 3000 and the power is very noticable if I had to choose it would be the 2.8 turbo disel shogan of padj it will pull a house down and very easy to get points on youre licence, but if I was not doing much off road work and wanted a good towing truck ither the v6 or disel they are both very good imop, Ive now got a v8 3.9 rangi (same engin as in the disco I belive) lpg converted £30 lpg gets us 150 miles (but I have a heavy right foot) if you drive lighter than me you should get 180 miles the v6 shogan will give you a big grin as will the v8.

200 Tdi discos seem to pull better (in my opinion)
300Tdi disco appear quieter
Mpg is very similar in both
(owned both)
I now have a Pajero 2.5..bit of a shock when it comes to MPg - but its pure comfort compared to driving a similar age disco...and i know its not going to fall apart under me!!
Petrol Pajeros, usually are about 5mpg down on the diesel - depending on right foot..
OFFROAD
well remember Mitsi dont give the shogun/pajero a diff lock as such, so a disco SHOULD be slightly better off road - but again depends on what 'off roading' you are doing, if its green laning then this wil be fine - if its axle deep in mud then go green oval
2.8 paj has a timing chain, but can suffer pump problems - 2.5 has belt and has a rep for cooking heads...BUT disco has the rot issues, and can also be a PITA for cam belts/head gaskets
