Title: making a safari snorkel air tight

right ive sealed up the end of the air box and around the join were the snorkel connects to the air box with silicone sealent what else do i need to do? the floods are coming and im going for the 4ft marker on my local ford! :twisted:

have you sealed up the holes in the bottom of the airbox?

If you want to make it air tight, simply seal up every hole, including the top... however, i suspect you meant water tight, in which don;t do the big one at the top...LOL

as said above but,

breathers,are they longer,tank one to,its ok having a snorkel but you could get water in the tank,axels and so on

huumm ent done the ones on the bottom of the air box oops! yeah breather kit needed asap aswell!

 also the pipes from the air box to inlet and a quick test is with the motor running and the top off the snorkel put your hand over the top it should stall if not listen for where its wheesing

Top advice!
Putting your hand (well the size of mine, they work ok) over the top of the snorkel, with top cap removed, should stall your engine - if it doesn't, it's not air tight!

where is the tank one? done all my other breathers. Well, the t box and gear box ones I found a few months ago whilst doing engine change. no wonder I couldnt find them before as they were wel hidden behind engine.

I would contact Reaper as he does great breather kits with a manifold and everything you need for £45 +P&P. Simple kit to install and the 1 pipe from manifold to inside of top of safari snorkel is un noticeable unless you look REALLY hard. Had loads of people say how neet it is. :dance:
