Title: disco bumper end caps
Post by: defuzz on February 28, 2005, 17:50:54
I took the spoiler off from under the bumper this weekend, at the mo the end caps are off so it looks pretty rough.

Everyone else seems to cut the end caps, but I want to know if there are any good (and cheap) alternatives, maybe differnt end caps??  (not a new bumper though)

I trimmed the end caps on my bumper and it was surprisingly easy and looks fine ... at least I think it does

Have a look at http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/gords/gallery/bumper_trim

Just take your time

When you look, you'll see that there is a line in the end cap to follow. I used a jigsaw with a fine toothed blade. Oh, and I cut them whilw still on the car :)

mines a 200Tdi and there doesn't seem to be a distinct line to follow, I'll get my brother to have a go with his jig saw...

Mark a line out with some tape before cutting the end caps,
You can also see what it will look like before it's past the point of no return.
