Take them back.

Have you actually spoken to the store Henry? I think you'll find they will fall over themselves to help. But you should get back to them quickly.

Why not try and complain, you cant say they wont do anything if you dont give them a chance, afterall you have the point that you wouldnt know untill you opened them.
Most shops seem to be on your side, when I worked in Halfords whilse at school we allways used to take stuff back, even thinks like ball joint splitters that had obviously been used for a one off job, then returned as "diddnt fit". Also it was surprising (or not) the number of people who came in with genuinley faulty goods, ready for a big argument and hassle who then had to back down when we apologised profusley and gave them a refund or new bit.
Goodluck.

This does not surprise me with Tesco's in all fairness. A couple of years ago i picked up a shirt i wanted and hung it on the back of the trolley, went through the checkout without paying for it and didn't realise until loading the car in the car park . I went back into the store and explained what i had done to the customer service/supervisor and was told thanks for being honest but don't worry just take it :D. Who says honesty does not pay
