Does anyone know the measurement of a d1 sill, from inner to outer. I'm trying to get the steel together to make some sliders, but don't fancy lying under mine as it's covered in mud n cow crap, thought if i use U or cut box to go over the sill then come off that.

Pretty sure RRC and disco 1 sills are the same.
If so then the sills are approximately (orgionally design in imperial) 100mm high and 60mm wide. common box sizes are metric in the UK so either 100x50 box or 120x60 box section should do. I used 100x50x3 box and made new body mount brakets (from 3mm plate) to maintain the corret geometry.
If you are just maxing sliders to fit round standard sills then there is also a lip that sticks down where the 2 parts of the sill are spot welded together.
If you replace the sills (good option if they are rotten) then you will need approximately 1.4m long sections for each sill.
If you only make sliders to fit over origional sills then rather another option to cup the sills would be to use some angle iron butted onto a box section to make the channels.

the sils arent a dead straight line too they lift up slightly at each end.

I think i might drill out the holes that are there for the sill covers, put some tube in to stop the sill crushing and bolt through there with some 5mm plate at the back, hopefully this will make the sliders strong enough to take a jack, also has anyone got the size of the adaptor for the hi lift jack so i can weld a tube in the slider.
