been to look at 2 cars today described as " in good condition all usual extras" well one had a rake of electrical problems ranging from the temp gauge not working to the headlights self levelling where and when they felt like it and the other  had a front end impact and had a very squashed looking slam panel with the rad etc held in with cable ties and string, new bonnet which you had to shut a certain way for it to latch and a rear impact hidden by a second hand rear bumper [-X and its just passed an mot :-. bloke says it had to have 1 front tyre which makes me suspicious that something is out of line
so waste of 2 trips out then

There are lots of dodgy sellers out there. Last weekend we looked at a car described as 2 lady owners, good condition. It had clearly been repainted (and badly, all the black bits had paint on them) and each door had a different lock. There was even a red stain in the boot :-o

Oh the joys of ebay !
I hate it when people try seel a car thats only fit for scrap as "ideal project" or "bargain"
The free ads are no better. Hard to find genuine cars anymore for sencible money

Problem is the priceof scrap rocketed last summer so lotsof old wreck got weighed in, now you can't find a runner for low money but the scrappies aren't taking them anymore.

Scrap rocketed last summer but it has nose dived now; I know of big places who are not unlocking the gates as the cost of handling it is more than the return; steel is less than 10% of what it was last summer.
