I went and did my hgv class 1 c+e driving test today and passed 1st time.
I got 6 minors. 1 was a shunt on the reverse, 1 was I was very close to putting hand brake on at some lights but then they changed and I nearly rolled back as I was quick on the clutch and should have used hand brake. oh well! 1 on indicators as I shouldnt have indicated to turn right at a roundabout because the road markings said straight on. Lucky I cancelled it then from moving accross the dual carriage way but instructor told me to put indicator on. Close shave!
Another 1 was too long in a gear and the rest was mirrors etc.
so all in all a happy bunny. I should hopefully be out Saturday week with the agency I did my lessons through.

Biggest tip I can give you is when ever your approaching a junction but mainly when you have to stop, allways allways allways slow down through the gears and make sure you do the last 15fot or so in a low range gear. That way when you pull away you dont have to remember to engage low ratio. If you pull away in high ratio it is an instant fail.
Also keep moving your head left and right looking in mirrors or so it looks like your looking in mirrors. Helps if some fit females are walking along the pavement if you get my drift. ;) Makes it easier to remember to look in them then!

ADR is? Tankers?
The hardest part is finding a job at the end of it all. I have been lucky so far.

Jobs, I have a few lined up. One is working for a Recovery firm, driving a bit LGV recovery lorry recovering other lorrys. Plus I know someone who works for a tanker firm in the office!!
